February 1-9, 2018 - I can: Describe the life and philosophy of Mohandas Gandhi & the history of India/Pakistan
What we did:
Day 1: Review Vocabulary and Background guide for the film "Gandhi" & Start watching "Gandhi"
Day 2 - 4: Watch "Gandhi" and complete the Gandhi Packet.
“Gandhi” has many concepts and elements that we will be referencing for the rest of the school year; civil disobedience, imperialism/colonialism, the relationship between Islam and Hinduism, Pakistan and India. Before beginning the film we will go over vocabulary to give students some addition background knowledge so that they will be able to better understand the context.
