Orographic effect: one side of a mountain range tends to get more precipitation because wind moving over the mountain is cooled. Cooler air can hold less water, so the extra moisture forms clouds and rains.

Continentality: Large bodies of water have a moderating effect on climate. Coastal areas experience more mild weather year- round, while areas further in land on continents experience more temperature extremes (i.e hotter summers and colder winters)

Renewable resources: resources that can be replenished, either by natural  processes or human action. 
e.g water, trees, wind, animal product.

Nonrenewable resources: resources whose supply is limited and cannot be replenished. 
       e.g metals (gold, iron) coal, oil, natural gas
