Term 2 - Model United Nations

Students will utilize 21st century and geo-literacy skills as they prepare and participate in a school-wide Model United Nations Conference. Investigate the World: Research MUN Country and Sustainability Topics
Recognize Perspectives: Accurately represent MUN Country and work with other students as they represent their's
Communicate Ideas: Write Papers, debate, compromise with others through critical thinking to solve real-world problems
Take Action: Complete an action plan to solve real-world sustainability problems

This is for those students who miss the Lakeridge MUN Conference due to illness or family emergency. It consists of reserach, an essay and a slide show presentation.

Based on the United Nations Rio+20 Conference, we have selected five topics that help students better understand the human and physical systems of the earth. These issues are relevant to current problems facing our local and global communities.

Model United Nations Packet

Model United Nations Resources
Students will need to complete the MUN Packet to help them prepare for the Model United Nations Conference on December 11, 2015. This conference will make up the majority of their grade for the term. You must talk to me ASAP if you are going to miss the MUN Conference. There is a make-up project for missing the day of the conference.

Model Arctic Council Packet

Understanding the Arctic is becoming increasingly important to recognizing our impact on the world. This will be a committee during the MUN Conference. Select students will research and represent Arctic Council countries and the geo-political issues of the region.
